A couple of years ago I started painting. In those years I found my way to what I am doing right now, painting watercolours, oil paintings and oil pastels and also doing a lot of drawing and sketching.

I enjoy painting things I like, things which I think are beautiful or distinctive. Most of the time I paint places or things that mean something to me.An example is my panama hat, but also nature around my hometown and urban life in the city.

My pursuit is to create a colourful, shimmering, atmospheric artwork express impression of the subject matter. When I look at my paintings, they remind me of the feelings I had for the subject.

I use different techniques depending on the subject, depending on which trait I want to emphasize. For every oil painting I make, I choose the scale of the stretcher frame, then stretch the raw canvas and applya self-made primer according to a recipe of the old masters. This gives every painting individuality and more authenticity. Some of the oil colours I use are also self-made with finest pigments, in order to achieve cleaner and more individual colours. I very much like natural inorganic pigments, like lapis lazuli which I often use in my watercolours.
